On Sunday the 24th March, Sussex YFC held their annual competitions day at Plumpton College. The weather was on our side with the sun shining the whole day and a good turn out from clubs with lots of strong competition between them. The day began with Stock Judging and Fence Erecting and was shortly followed with Tractor Driving, ATV Handling and Dig a Duck. Lunch was then served by Ree from Chailey and we all enjoyed our first BBQ of 2019!
The afternoon was filled with the fun competitions which included a Farm Pub Quiz, Egg Throwing and Tug of War. As usual these games were a highlight of the day with the egg throwing getting a little messy at the end! Everyone showed brilliant enthusiasm for the tug of war and it proved to be a County favorite like always.
To finish the day we had the Trophies and Awards presented by our County President Jeff Trunkfield. Thank you to all the members who joined us, all the Officers and everyone who helped and made the day possible. Many thanks to Debbie Wood, Mary Masters, Sconaid Wastie and Eleanor Smale who helped organise and run the day.

The Sussex YFC ball was held on Saturday 19th January 2019 at Wellshurst Golf and Country Club. The night went really well and was enjoyed by all. We had members and non members who came along to enjoy the evening.
The Hampers that the clubs created for raffle prizes looked amazing. There was some great dancing and a fun dance competition at the beginning of the night to kick things off.
Our thanks to Wellshurst for hosting the event and for everyone who helped with the preparations for the evening and to Mary for preparing the table decorations.
