Four of Hailsham YFC’s members attended Emergency First Aid at Work training on Saturday 29th May 2021 which was kindly funded by the Charles Coombe-Tennant Training Fund through Sussex YFC. Throughout the day the members learnt how to complete CPR, put someone in the recovery position and how to use a defibrillator amongst other things. It was a very informative day and they all learnt things they didn’t know before. Their favourite part of the day was when they had to try and stop a dummy from choking by giving them back and chest thrusts, some succeeded more than others! Hailsham YFC now have four fully qualified first aiders at club so there is always someone ready to deal with an emergency. Although the members are all pleased with their new skills, they are really hoping they won’t ever have to use them!
